The TequilaX Takes Over The Los Angeles Fashion District

At City Market Social House, in Los Angeles, earlier this year the creators of the event WhiskeyX took over this venue to create a unique experience focusing around tequila, for the aficionado of the spirit.

While WhiskeyX normally holds over 60 pours per event, this experience was a little bit more quaint, but no less enjoyable.

There are so many great vendors to talk about, but our favorite flavors for the event were likely Fiero and Próspero. Fiero‘s Blanco tequila infused with Habanero was the right amount of spice to give your tongue a wakeup call. Próspero‘s Añejo tequila, which due to the fact that it is aged for a minimum of 12 months in oak barrels, makes the alcohol have more of a smoke note that will make whiskey lovers prefer this one to others. If you’re a fan of Cristalino, a barrel-aged mixture of Reposado and Añejo which gets it’s name from the filtration process that leaves it colorless but smooth and complex in flavor, there was a lot of it on offer at the event. Our favorite Cristallino was Maestro Dobel‘s Diamante though as it stood out as having some of the best flavor and mouthfeel.

That wasn’t all though as there were other great brands like 1800 Tequila, 400 Conejos, Chinaco Tequila, Convite Mezcal, Don Julio, El Tesoro Tequila, Gran Centenario Tequila, Gran Coramino, Hornitos Tequila, Jose Cuervo Tequila, KAH-Tequila, Madre Mezcal, Marfanista Tequila, Milagro Tequila, Rooster Rojo Tequila, Tequila Severo, Teremana Tequila, and Tres Generaciones Tequila.

On top of the Tequila there was a lot more going on at the site. There was not only amazing tequila but great music provided by DJ at the event, food trucks with tacos and BBQ, and a bus set up offering beard trimmings and haircuts. VIP members were given a free Macanudo Inspirado White Robusto Connecticut wrapper cigar. There was an outdoor smoking lounge for the people inclined to imbibe, but due to the stormy weather it was limited to a couple tents.

I personally was worried due to the horrible rain on the day of the event, that it would be canceled, but the event did an amazing job shifting the experience all indoors, with the exception of the cigar lounge.

While The TequilaX is over, there is so much more down the road from The WhiskeyX to look forward to, including shows later this year in Miami, Chicago, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Denver, Nashville, Austin, Houston, Las Vegas, and even returning to Los Angeles!
