The Testaments Takes To The Streets At SXSW 2026

Premiering on April 8, 2026, The Testaments, is a new chapter set in the world of The Handmaid’s Tale. Following Teens Agnes and Daisy as they arrive to Gilead. In the series they will attend the Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives.

To celebrate the premiere of The Testaments, Hulu is bringing a one-day interactive street takeover to SXSW for 2026!

During the experience on Monday, March 16, 2026, fans can witness and participate in a story-driven immersive activation that stops along Austin’s popular streets.

At the experience, Aunt Lydia’s prep school bus, a purple bus, will stop and “Plums” will hand out mini Bumbleberry Pie, a combination of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries. Each pie will come with a cryptic messages tucked inside to draw people in to the world of The Testaments via a QR code!

The activation will hit three timed spots in Austin!

12:30–1:30 PM: South Congress Ave @ 100 Elizabeth Street

4:30–5:30 PM: W 4th Street – SXSW Closure

6:30–7:30 PM: 500 Brazos Street Near E 6th Street
