We stopped into Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood for its second visit to the Los Angeles Theme Park. This experience happens after the park closes, bringing unique experiences that are not available normally at the park.
Our first stop of the experience was on the back lot, as the trams took us to Little Europe and the Court of Miracles from countless Universal Films. The space has been rebranded for Scooby Doo Meets Universal Monsters, and guests are introduced to the Phantom Director on the way to the space. Now the attendees have to work together to find clues, and solve who is behind bringing the Universal Monsters to life. Also, you can take photo ops with the Scooby Gang and the Universal Monsters.
Next up we headed over to the lower lot. Our favorite experience of the night is still the Secrets Of Waterdeep experience, which returned from the prior year. During the experience, attendees will be enlisted by a pair of Harpers and assigned a class, like Sorcerer, Cleric, Fighter, and Rogue. While the mission is still to stop Xanathar from using the Dragon Staff and removing the Dragon of Waterdeep, the overall experience has been adjusted, specifically adding new puzzles to solve, and more interactivity.
Next, we headed to Super Nintendo World, where instead of bringing one special Yoshi, like last year, they brought five different Yoshis! The colors brought were Green, Blue, Yellow, Pink, and Purple! The location will also have a new activity that guests will be given the opportunity to solve, and if they do, they will be granted a password that will give them entry into a fan meet and greet!
One of the largest upgrades this year was the One Piece Grand Pirate Gathering, this space moved over to the area dedicated to Water World’s Stunt Show. Hollywood and Dine has been transformed into the Ganji Gallery, offering amazing themed food, and the Laemmle Court being transformed into the One Piece Bar. There will be meet and greets with One Piece characters, and a dedicated stunt show – “One Piece Grand Pirate Show.” Inspired by Japan Park team this 20 minute show will feature the characters searching for the rare Pop Green Seeds to gain a special attack power.
If you are a fan of Sailor Moon, then you’ll not want to miss out on the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon film which has only been shown before at the Universal Japan Theme Park. This film will be shown at the Dreamwork Theater and is a highly engaging 180-degree experience where you help resolve the events of the film!
The last one we checked out, was taking place in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In the dedicated space within the park Fan Fest Nights brought the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest – Search For The Hippogriff experience. In this experience, guests will be asked to rescue the Hippogriff, which will be the first new addition since Wizardly World opened. The experience lasts about 12 minutes and a professor from the school will guide guests as they learn magic and use it to solve puzzles and ultimately save the Hippogriff!
All in all the experience was a ton of fun, and if you are on the fence, you should pick up your tickets Here before they are all sold out!
