Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of January 20, 2023

Blaze – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 92%

Blaze, played by Julia Savage, is only a young girl, but when she witnesses a violent crime, it puts her into a catatonic state of shock. The only way out of her shock is through her own imagination.

The movie is apparently a great journey through the act of coping with trauma and is only made better by the performance of Savage in the role.

In From The Side – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 57%

Love finds a unique home as Mark, played by Alexander Lincoln, begins to fall into an unavoidable passion for his teammate Warren, played by Alexander King. Although he is cocky, and unavailable, his feelings only grow as they push through rivalries and overcome their inexperience.

If you are looking for a film that has LGBT relationships, while also still has the most manliest of sports, Rugby, then this film hits both. It’s not exactly Tolstoy, but it’s a good bit of fun!

Kids Vs. Aliens – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming

Gary, played by Dominic Mariche, just wants to make home movies with his friends while his parents are out of town. When his sister throughs a raging halloween party, it draws the attention of not the police, but aliens. Now the siblings and children have to work together to survive.

This looks incredibly campy, but that’s most of the charm. If you are looking for a movie that feels like Killer Klowns From Outer Space, then you’ll likely love this movie.

Missing – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 80%

June, played by Storm Reid, goes searching for her mother when she and her mom’s boyfriend disappear on vacation. Stuck in Los Angeles, she only has the internet to find out clues. However, when she starts digging into the situation, she learns that there may be more about her mother that she didn’t know.

This looks very interesting, a more interesting take on the thriller that uses technology as a medium for it’s development. If you are looking for a more interesting film this week, then check this one out.
