What To Do For Halloween In Los Angeles In 2025!

As always, while we do have our monthly Nerd Out article, we like to keep the Halloween events in their own little article, because Los Angeles is no stranger to love for the season, and because there are so any, we would hate for any of them to disappear in the normal list of events.

First and foremost, let’s talk about our returning experiences!

Universal Studios Hollywood – Halloween Horror Nights

This experience is always next level, with a ton of classic styled horror houses, and a couple amazingly new ones like their Fallout themed maze, and Five Nights at Freddy’s experiences coming to the park this year!

The thing that makes this Halloween themed event a must of course is their Terror Tram. This takes over the theme parks traditional behind the scenes tram ride, and turns it into a unique experience where everyday Angelinos can walk the backlot without having to pay for the VIP Experience from the park.

The Terror Tram drops you off at Bates Motel and allows you to walk through that set as well as the War of The Worlds and recently added Nope set while also being haunted and harassed by scare actors.

Another way that this experience exceeds expectations is in the use of not just visual and audio to terrorize, but their ability to use smell to the full effect!

Los Angeles Haunted Hayride

Can you even call yourself from Los Angeles if you haven’t participated in Los Angeles’ amazing Haunted Hayride in Griffith Park?

This iconic experience usually boasts around three mazes, and a Hayride experience that can’t be beat either as a group ticket, or sold individually. Access to the experience is free, as long as you have one ticket for any of the rides or houses, and includes a couple scare actors in the general area, so if you want an affordable experience, this is definitely it.

They also host a series of food trucks and pop-up eateries inside the event, and last year they had an amazing Halloween themed band performing for the crowd. This year they will being more buildings to the town, and even bring in Cassandra Peterson’s Elvira to join their haunts and figures.

Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns Los Angeles

This is a family-friendly experience that houses massive amounts of pumpkins, hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns, and light displays. This experience is more dedicated for the children, with a series of displays and definitely no scare actors. Last year, they even had upgradeable tickets with bounce houses, slides, and smores.

The event will take place at a new location this year, South Coast Botanic Garden, 26300 Crenshaw Blvd, Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA 90274.

Tickets start at $24.99 for children and $29.99 for adults.

Dark Harbor

Returning to the boat once again, and for the first year without the English village area around the boat, the Dark Harbor experience will once again provide a unique and amazing experience for users to enjoy.

This is probably one of our favorite experiences because it takes its attendees into less traveled parts of an actually haunted location!

Dark Harbor takes place on The Queen Mary, located at 1126 Queens Highway, Long Beach, CA 90802.
