Rochelle Stops By Angel of Light Immersive Horror Show

Angel of Light has premiered at the historic Los Angeles Theatre, and it’s an experience not to be missed!

Prepare yourself for an evening of true immersive horror. This historic theatre fits the theme perfectly since it’s believed to be haunted as well. Step onto the set of the Golden Age of Old Hollywood, 1935. You are there to see Rota K. Preston’s debut performance but before you can get to the main stage you have to wander through several haunted maze-like walkthroughs down dark, narrow paths, with a number of characters ready to cause many a jump scares! You’ll walk through theatre dressing rooms, underground catacombs, a grand ballroom. Even the restrooms are ornate and grandiose, and you can hear the terror in the walls… and maybe even a demon to accompany you. Cocktails are available and delicious. I tried the Rota’s Poison which was just sweet enough to fool you into thinking you were still sober after drinking it. The last half of the experience begins with a trailer-like video and proceeds to the main theatre which is a sight to behold on its own. Dark figures stand on the sides of the orchestra where you are seated to witness Rota’s performance. The dance performers and Rota’s voice are incredible, making this the main highlight of the evening. Once you witness the demise you are led back to the foyer where you see familiar haunted faces line the stairwell.

Odeon, the Immersive experience and technology company behind this project, has intertwined ancient curses, sonic punishment, and demonic possession in this original story of Rota Krishna, a village girl who’s been cursed. She comes to America and when she makes her debut performs on stage, she unknowingly releases the Angel of Light curse once more here in LA. This is the prequel to the upcoming film Hex, due out in 2025.

Along with the fantastic live actors, the use of technology brings the audience into a more modern experience with projection mapping and incredible Dolby Atmos sound. The set, costumes, performances, are all top notch. Someone even joked this may be where all the SAG actors are performing.

It truly is an innovative and unforgettable experience.
