We Return To The Obscure For Season 3 Experience!

When it comes to spirits and experiences, most places lean into the experience and the spirits as an afterthought. Some places lean too much into the spirits and not enough into the experience. Attendees aend up leaving feeling robbed of an engagement. But the obscure is a perfect marriage of an experience and spirits. The space that you travel through during the event is magical with just as much thought put into the place, as they placed into the spirits you are served during the show.

We actually checked out their second season previously, you can actually see our review of that Here.

This time, we returned to experience their brand new, just launched, third season, and to see what it is all about.

The third season was an incredibly unique experience, with a new start, where you enter the experience in reverse, and started off with a much smaller group than in previous seasons. This is designed so people can jump in and encounter the experience staggered, allowing more people to experience the journey at different times.

Upon entering we were treated to a Sake tonic cocktail, created by the Potions Master/Beverage Director, Hope Ewing.

However, the first spirit and cocktail pairing for was the Stranger Tides Rum. Head Distiller Théron Regnier takes the audience through the history of Rum, and the Stranger Tides book, which was adapted into a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. During the story, Théron does what he always does, and enthrals us with how far he goes in his desire to create unique and interesting liquors by acquiring the rights from underneath Disney for the spirits name!

The cocktail accompanying the spirits was an espresso mixture, which created notes of butterscotch and citrus on your tongue as you enjoyed its thick and decadent flavor.

The second cocktail was a pleasurable return to the world of American Chestnut that we first experiences in season two, as the Théron weaves a tale about the history of Bourbon, and how it’s new barrel law caused an influx of Whiskey barrels to get sent to Scotland for scotch storage and maturing. So they took their maturation process for their whiskey, and with the help of a not-disclosed scotch brand, they’ve created the new Rite of the King scotch, and with it a delicious coctail with sweet notes dedicated to Morgan Le Fay from Athurian Lore.

The third and last spirit was Aeternum Vodka, which was an interesting journey to create probably the simplest of liquors, which are hardly that! This took you into the entry chamber of the space, normally for people waiting to enter the main hall, and now choose one of three cocktails utilizing the vodka, with the simple hints of Sweet, Sour, or Savory.

We got Savory, and it turned out to be a clarified and broken down Bloody Mary!

After your experience is over, they take you to the iconic Fibonacci Bar where for a price, you can purchase additional cocktails of the ones you tasted before, or new flavors, as well as purchase any of the spirits to take home with you.

We love this experience, and if you haven’t been before, YOU NEED TO GO! Purchase your tickets Here!
