The Smithsonian Magazine is bringing back their well loved and appreciated Free Museum Day, on September 21, 2019. Museums and cultural institutions around Las Vegas are opening their doors, in in the hope that people who normally wouldn’t attend, will join them.
With that in mind that we have a couple Las Vegas Museums that are participating in the program!

The Burlesque Hall of Fame
Not specifically suited for the kiddos, but a great stop if you are going to be in Vegas, The Burlesque Hall of Fame preserves the history of burlesque. Collecting costumes, props, and photographs they use them on their walls to document the dancers, and history of the art of burlesque.
Their exhibits include a timeline of the history of Burlesque, showcasing it through the decades.

National Atomic Testing Museum
Having actually been to the National Atomic Testing Museum (or NATM), we can tell you that it is quite the experience. Mixing an educational experience with a unique representation, you will learn so much from the age of nuclear energy.
The exhibits featured here include a timeline of nuclear energy as it developed, the GZ theater that simulates a bomb blast, and showcasing the history of nuclear testing leading to and the science behind underground testing.

The Planetarium
In Nevada this is only one public planetarium, and the cost to visit is not that high. as a result a lot of schools will make the trip to the facility. The location is even available for private events.
The planetarium offers shows at 3:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m., then if the weather is clear, people in the 8:00 p.m. will be able to look through the telescopes.
