March Community Day featuring Fletchling!

Trainers, Spring is oncoming fast in the Northern Hemisphere. The flowers are blooming, the hay fever is rearing its ugly head and, most importantly, the birds are singing.

This month’s Community Day features the little bird Pokemon from Kalos, Fletchling!

It’s kind of weird to be featuring a Generation 6 Pokemon so early in the rotation, right? Especially since there are tons of Generation 4 Pokemon I think we’d all love to see featured first…

One day, Li’l Chomper. One day. (Or not.)

But, having said that, Fletchling, Fletchinder, and Talonflame are nothing to sneeze at. Talonflame is useful in PVP and one of our better birds in general. It’s not all bad, is what I’m trying to say.

The date is Saturday, March 6th, 11:00am till 5:00pm, and here’s a list of the bonuses we can expect:

  • 3x Catch XP! Go ahead and pop open a few Lucky Eggs for a massive 6x Catch XP. For those of us still working our way towards Level 50? Absolutely clutch. (Pardon the egg-scruciating pun, folks.)
  • Speaking of Lucky Eggs, 1280 Pokecoins will get you the Community Day Box which contains 50 Ultra Balls, Poffin, Elite Fast TM, and 5 Lucky Eggs!
  • Incense will last for 3 hours when activated during event times.
  • For $1 or your local equivalent, you can claim a Special Research Quest line; The Bravest Bird!
  • 5 Snapshot encounters available.
  • Fletchling, Fletchling Everywhere!
  • Shiny rate for Fletchling is boosted, as per usual.
  • Evolve your Fletchling or Fletchinder all the way during event hours or up to 2 hours after to get a Talonflame that knows Incinerate!
  • So, Fletchling already has a Spotlight section of its own in Nerd News Social’s Kalos Bestiary Part One and the only new addition to this information is
the introduction of Incinerate as the Community Day move. It’s going to be the better-Charged Attack option available after this update.

The key color change for Shiny Fletchling, and indeed the whole line, is that its cool gray underside becomes a more beige-brown color. It’s not exactly an exciting palette swap, huh?

As per usual, Trainers, I wish you the absolute best of luck catching some great new additions to your roster.
