We stopped into Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. This experience happens after the park closes, bringing unique experiences that are not available normally at the park.
Our first stop of the experience was on the back lot, as the trams took us to Courtyard Square for a unique experience called Destination Hill Valley. The Square has been reset to represent 1955’s world of Hill Valley. On top of the amazing facades they have dedicated actors recreating scenes which include George McFly knocking out Biff, Marty McFly performing at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance, and the titular lightning strike. Also you can play some arcade games to win prizes, for a cost, or snap a picture with Einstein and some of the most iconic places from the film.
Next up we headed down to the lower lot. While it was still early, we learned that the First Roll Tavern had already sold out of their signature dishes due to how amazing they were. There were some themed photo ops, like from being inside a gelatinous cube. Our favorite experience of the night was the Secrets Of Waterdeep experience. The experience starts off with you being enlisted by a pair of Harpers and assigned a class, like Sorcerer, Cleric, Fighter, and Rogue. Your mission is to stop Xanathar from using the Dragon Staff from removing the wards keeping Dragons out of Waterdeep. The Xanathar Creature was created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, so it was amazing, fun, and enthralling all at the same time!
Next we headed to Super Nintendo World, where you could find a collection of 5 hidden Yoshi eggs around the land. Doing so net you the ability to do a photo op with a unique Yoshi, we got to hang out with the Pink Yoshi!
The upper field between the main gate and Wizarding World hosted the One Piece Party, where people could get photo ops with the characters. Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen could take in a unique show just for the experience, and you can even get your picture taken in a wanted poster.
Next we headed to the Star Trek: Red Alert experience, and while we were a little disappointed by the open doors, and closed off dialog from the characters, I loved being able to walk through Engineering and hang out on the Bridge!
Next experience, and the last one we checked out, was taking place in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In the dedicated space, the park unveiled new creatures for fans to interact with, specifically the Niffler. Additionally the light show at the end of the night has changed to “Hogwarts Always” which takes fans through a nostalgic journey through events and actions from the world of Harry Potter, and then at the end of the show, the park picks one random house to win the house cup. Each show is different!
All in all the experience was a ton of fun, and if you are on the fence, you should pick up your tickets Here before they are all sold out!
