We stopped by the awesome whiskey sampling event called Whiskey & Barrel Nite on September 26, 2024. The awesome event returned to the Majestic Downtown and did not disappoint. You can see our previous article announcing the event Here.
This event this year was once again moved downstairs to the Reserve, a night club location themed around a bank vault. It’s an awesome space, and you have to go through a vault door before you can engage with the companies’ offering samples.
If you sprung for the VIP ticket, you got the chance to enter the event 30 minutes earlier, limiting the crowds while you hit the main tables and chat up the companies. Then when the early access ended, you were able to sneak back to the front to a small but awesome section to get some samples of amazingly limited pours.
All attendees were able to enjoy a wonderful whiskey infused meal. Served as a buffet-style dinner, it included tri-tip seasoned with chimichurri sauce, tender chicken medallions served with heavy cream, mushrooms and bourbon, red skinned mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, and bacon and truffle mac and cheese. A major step up from the past year’s dinner. After you were done with food, then it was time to hit the floor once again for whiskey samples!
There were over 180 Whiskeys to enjoy and even more for VIP attendees. The entire space was filled to the brim with samples and companies to explain their flavors and options.
