Pokemon Go – April Community Day with Snivy!

Hey there, Trainers! Welcome to April. With another month, comes another Community Day. This month, we’re focused on the slippery serpent Grass Type Starter from Unova, Snivy!

The day? Sunday, the 11th of April. The time? 11:00am till 5:00pm, local. The bonuses? As follows:

3x Catch Stardust. Remember to stack up 12 Star Pieces and you can make that 4.5x for the full 6 hours.

3 hour Incense when launched during event hours.

For $1 or your local equivalent, you’ll gain access to Snivy in the Sunshine. It’s a Special Research Quest.

For 1280 Pokecoins, you can get he event exclusive Community Day Box containing an Elite Charged TM, 50 (!!!) Ultra Balls, 4 Star Pieces and 3 Mossy Lure Modules for extra Grass Type action.

There’s Photobombs afoot – 5, if past Community Days are anything to go by.

Evolve Snivy or Servine all the way to Serperior to gain the Community Day exclusive Attack, Frenzy Plant.

You’ll notice a ser-vere upswing in the number of Snivy with the possibility of snagging a Shiny snake!

It’s nice to see a Starter Pokemon in the rotation again, huh? To be fair, Snivy HAS been available as a Shiny for a while now but I still don’t have one so I’m pretty happy to get the opportunity to get one or two of my own. There was no mention of limited time Research Quests this time around, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see a few of those available on the day as well.

I’ve done a Spotlight on Snivy before, all the way back in the very first Unova Bestiary, and the only addition to make is the new Community Day Attack, Frenzy Plant, which is a quick, powerful option and probably your best bet for STAB Charged Attacks. Its new CP, too, is higher since the re-balancing that came with Level 50, so it can now hit 2574.

Shiny Snivy is a teal-blue sort of a color instead of the usually grassy green, so, easier to spot!
