  • Let’s take a look at the star of the show!

    Spotlight on Tinkatink

This one has been a fan favorite since the release of Scarlet and Violet… and why wouldn’t it be? It’s cute, it’s violent and its a fun type combination! The Pokedex tells us that it spends a lot of time crafting that little hammer… bat… thing that it carries around. Unfortunately, that same weapon is often stolen and snacked on by critters that eat metal.

As middle evolutions go, this one is a pretty awesome design. I honestly don’t feel like anyone would have felt cheated if this was a two stage line and this was where it ended. Between that hammer and the ponytail, this thing is giving some warrior princess vibes and I’m here for it!

These little ladies live in scrap yards and other places with ready supplies of metal to scavenge. They also attack Pawniard and Bisharp, hoping to knock metal parts off them to add to their own arsenal! Brutal!

Here’s where it all gets crazy – this pink powerhouse will use that massive hammer to launch rocks into the sky specifically to knock down Corviknight. It will then scavenge metal from the corpse to add to its own power. That hammer weighs hundreds of pounds but it hefts it around like it were nothing. It takes whatever it wants but has a passion for teaching the younger generations how to shape metal.

Still. Can it hammer its opponents out of the sky in Pokemon GO?

    Spotlight on Tinkaton

With a max CP of 2544, Attack of 155, Defense of 196 and Stamina of 198… not really. It’s got some okay staying power and can last a while in the ring but that Attack power is a little weaksauce. The good news is that, as a Fairy/Steel Type, it only has two weaknesses in Fire and Ground plus it has a whopping 11 resistances in Dark, Fairy, Flying, Poison, Ice, Grass, Rock, Normal and Psychic, Dragon and Bug! (Dragon, especially, is resisted.)

In terms of fast attacks you have Rock Smash and Fairy Wind (STAB) and Charged Attacks are Bulldoze, Play Rough, Flash Canon and Heavy Slam, the latter three of which are STAB. The Community Day exclusive move is Gigaton Hammer – a signature move which is Steel Type and therefore STAB. I’d pair that with Fairy Wind and Play Rough for maximum DPS and coverage options. (Bulldoze is a tempting option for coverage against Fire Types as well.)

The shiny for Tinkatink is super underwhelming. Only the hammer and other metal parts change color, and all they do is become a rusty red. So, shiny Tinkatink just has inferior gear. It’s a bummer, honestly, and probably pretty easy to miss so just be careful when shiny hunting!

As always, Trainers, I wish you the absolute best of luck out there!
