This year marks the 15th anniversary of Los Angeles Comic Con, and to celebrate, they are planning to bring their Akiba Station back with more space, and even larger scale attention! We attended last year, and the Akiba Station was one of our favorite experience at the event.
As a commitment to Anime and the Akiba Station, they are bringing the cast of KPop Demon Hunters: Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo! This is one of the few opportunities for fans of the series to be able to see not only all three of the stars, but together live at the event!
Eric Bryan Seuthe II: Hey Chris, we wanted to thank you for taking a minute with us. It’s been 15 years since the beginning of Los Angeles Comic Con, and we’ve been here the whole time. What has been your favorite experience from Los Angeles Comic Con over the years?
- Chris DeMoulin: I think my favorite moment every year is Saturday morning right before we open, seeing 8,000-10,000 excited fans in the South Hall lobby, brimming with anticipation, eager to get inside and experience everything. For me personally, it was getting to meet and work with one of my childhood idols, Stan Lee.
Eric: Over the years, Los Angeles Comic Con has brought some amazing experiences, like Ardbeg’s tasting space, the Akiba Station, the Halloween-themed experiences, and of course Legion M’s Pitch Elevator. Can we expect some more awesome experiences in the future?
- Chris: Absolutely! Not to sound like a Monty Python skit, but our five main goals are Surprise, Delight, creating a Feeling of Community, letting you see and meet your heroes, and promoting Joy. Way better than the Spanish Inquisition….
Eric: The convention has had a ton of amazing guests over the years, and continues to bring the best and most impressive guests. Going forward though, do you still have a dream guest you wish would attend in the future, and who is it?
- Chris: Of course, I always start answering this question with “it doesn’t matter who we wish to see, it’s all about who the fans of LA want to see!” In that context, there are still a few luminaries from the classic franchises, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Marvel Universe, etc., that haven’t yet been able to join us. But we’re still working on them! And every year new stars emerge, so we hope this year’s new talent will be next year’s featured guest.
Eric: Can we get a hint of how Akiba Station will be getting an increased commitment this year?
- Chris: More space, more content, more activations, more exhibitors, more community, more fun. Basically more!
Eric: Our favorite experience from Akiba Station last year was the amazing sample booth for Maruchan Ramen, and their flight of ramen. Did you get a chance to sample the flight last year?
- Chris: I did, and I also loved the panel they did on the Anime & Gaming Stage with the spicy ramen. Maruchan had exactly the kind of brand activation we love, all about the product, and its connection to the fan community.
Eric: With this year’s Akiba Station getting more dedication, and K-Pop Demon Hunters making an appearance, do you have any favorite anime series?
- Chris: I’d have to say for me personally, it is probably Pokemon, because it’s the first anime property I became involved with, over 20 years ago, with my son, who’s now 26. We loved the characters, the cards, the collecting and the stories, amazing to help Pokemon celebrate its 30th anniversary this year!
Eric: Thanks again for taking the time!
While the convention is increasing the floor plan for the Akiba Station, Los Angeles Comic Con is still Los Angeles’ biggest and best multimedia pop culture convention. The convention will still provide ample and plenty of space for fandoms of comics, movies, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, gaming, and all things pop-culture!
Tickets are now available for the show, as the convention have dropped today the Early Bird pricing for 3-Day Weekened Passes as well as VIP Passes!
The convention runs from Friday, October 30, 2026 through Sunday, November 1, 2026. Find out more and purchase tickets for the event Here!
